✍️ Reflections From My Practice - Trust Your Observations

Over the years, I've learned to pay attention to the words parents use when they're describing their child.

Sometimes they say:

"I don't know if I'm imagining it..."

"I don't want to overreact..."

"Maybe they'll just grow out of it..."

Often, underneath those words is a parent who has noticed something but doesn't yet feel confident enough to say, "I'm concerned."

I've always believed those observations deserve to be heard.

Not because they necessarily mean something is wrong.

But because parents know their children in ways that shouldn't be dismissed.

A conversation doesn't have to lead to an answer.

Sometimes it simply leads to a better understanding of the child.

And sometimes that conversation is the beginning of support that makes a real difference.

I've learned that listening carefully can be just as important as knowing what to say.
